Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the money go?

Your participation in Tough Gator changes lives! All proceeds go toward international aid for those in need. This includes disaster relief, providing essentials like clothing, shoes, blankets, food, and medical supplies. Additionally, your support helps children access education by supplying school materials and uniforms.

When should I arrive on race day?

Arrive 30-60 minutes before your wave start time. This allows you to park, check-in, stretch, and get pumped at the start line! Parking opens at 6:30 AM, and check-in begins at 6:50 AM.

How long will it take to complete the course?

It depends on your pace! Elite athletes may crush it in 35-45 minutes, while others might take around an hour or more. Don’t worry—it’s all about having fun and conquering the challenge!

What if I can’t complete an obstacle or I don’t have the courage?

No worries! If you skip an obstacle, here’s the deal:

  • Competitive Waves: 20 Burpees(5K), or 10 Burpees(2K).
  • Timed 5K Waves: 25 Jumping Jacks.
  • Family Fun Waves: No penalty – your secret is safe with us!

Tough Gator is about pushing your limits, but your safety and enjoyment come first.

Can I donate my shoes after the race?

Unfortunately, we can no longer accept shoe donations due to high shipping costs. However, you can still make a difference! Donate to the Core Mission Fund here and let us know what essentials you’d like to sponsor.

Do I get a T-shirt?

Absolutely! Register before 03/31/25 to guarantee your size at no additional cost. Late registrants or walk-ins will receive a T-shirt while supplies last, so sign up early to secure your swag!

Is there a minimum age requirement?

Get the whole family involved! Tough Gator is excited to offer the opportunity to participate as young as 4 years old! Here’s a list of the varying age requirements based on which wave you’re running in:

Do I need to know how to swim?

How much does the race cost?

Prices vary depending on the race event you select along with when you register. You can find more information about race pricing here.
